Stephanie Stark - Münster
Art, Culture & Interior
It used to look like several hearts are beating inside Stephanie Stark. She was a graphic designer with a passion for architecture. Then her heart called her to Münster, to Nottuln to be specific. She then started missing the Rhenish cheerful nature because she studied in Aachen and Norwich (GB) and worked a while in Cologne and Düsseldorf. But not until living amongst Westphalians, Stephanie Stark found her source of true happiness: a way to combine graphic design and architecture. Her agency Stark Design offer s communication design for companies and institutes and, on top of that, as the publisher of the Münster/Osnabrück issue of the Stylus Magazin, which focuses on regional architecture and design, she gets around a lot. Even on office days she goes outside for some fresh air – after all, a huge dog is a member of her office team. Over the years, Stephanie Stark adopted a specific routine of not having a routine in the first place. She deliberately changes her point of view or her approach. Only her attitude towards her adopted home is never going to change.“ As an aesthete, one just has to love Münster ”she says and goes into raptures of how worth living in, style-conscious and green her little city is."

Art in the fourth generation
In 1900 Great-grandfather Schemm started his first business by selling rosaries out of a wicker basket. With the first retail shops, also began the trade in pictures and frames, so in the widest possible sense, the trade in art. Unfortunately, the First and Second World War did not leave the family unscathed; the gallery in the Ludgeristraße in Münster was the only one that survived the economic recession. In 2009, Jörg Schemm, the fourth generation by now, moved the gallery to Rothenburg 38. Selected artists, such as recently photographer Carsten Sander with the series "HEIMAT. Deutschland – Deine Gesichter", are offered the appropriate setting here to present their works in a glamorous atmosphere.

CAPUTO ’ S
Salmon steak on grated potato biscuits with cucumber crème fraîche as a starter, followed by venison soup medallions on creamy savoy with hazelnut gnocchi, crowned with liquid cored chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream - CAPUTO'S is the perfect blend of café, restaurant and bar. It is located in the heart of Münster - if you want to sit outside in the summer, you can do so directly at Picassoplatz - theoretically you could go there in the early morning, for a relaxed breakfast with friends or in the afternoon for waffles with hot cherries and vanilla ice cream. Inside, the cuisine, service and excellent ambience win one over: in 2011, the restaurant received the "best architects" award in the category of interior design. CAPUTO'S - selected food in a feel-good atmosphere.

living room with kitchen & bar
Very personal and very individual, because Marie and Nicklas, the two owners of Rotkehlchen, take the matter of the living room very seriously. He, the creative brain in the kitchen, which exclusively makes use of fresh and preferably regional ingredients. And she, the skilled mixologist (Marie calls herself a beverage chef), who knows exactly which cocktail of freshly squeezed juices and homemade (!) syrups and purees goes w ith which dish, and even composes them herself. They bear such imaginative names as "Frühlingsgeflüster" meaning "Springwhispering" or "Holler die Waldfee" meaning "Scream of the Forest Fairy" . Quite in contrast to the dishes, which dispense with elusive descriptions and in Rotkehlchen are simply called by the things from which they are made, such as Hirsch / Schwarzwurzel / Quitte / Brot (Venison / Salsify / Quince / Bread).

"I paint objects as I think them, not as I see them."
He is considered one of the most important artists of the 20th century: Pablo Picasso. His entire work is expected to cover over 50.000 paintings, drawings and sculptures. In 2015, his "Women of Algiers" was auctioned for nearly 180 million dollars, making it the most expensive painting of all time. Most of his other works, however, can be admired in museums, many of them in Barcelona and Paris – or in the Pablo Picasso Art Museum in Münster, the first and only Picasso Museum in Germany. Exceptional art by an exceptional artist and his contemporaries, such as Georges Braque and Henri Matisse, in an exhibition space of around 600 square meters.

Ventana
Ventana is an owner-managed company with products by international top manufacturers of elegant interior concepts for home and office. The shop itself, a former carpark in the middle of Münster, is a real eye-catcher: in "white cube" style and loft atmosphere, 1.400 square meters of design originals - furniture, lighting and accessories, can be admired and purchased. The original reinforced concrete structure is not hidden but instead, together with the nine-meter-high glass façade, forms a fitting background to modern furniture and lighting. The shop itself is therefore a plea for giving the skillful conversion the advantage over often faceless and historyless new buildings.

Awarded with two Varta diamonds
Farm poultry croquettes, roasted fillet of monkfish on a herb risotto with red wine shallots, and a selection of unpasteurised cheese from Maître Affineur Waltmann from Erlangen... this is how culinary seduction is performed. Gabriel's is part of Kaiserhof Münster, a 4-star hotel in the city centre - fine German cuisine in a refined ambience. The concept is supplemented by the wine cellar, which can be booked by small parties and is the perfect backdrop for private wine tastings. A little tip for selecting a dish: If you can't decide which to choose, it is always a good idea to go for the recommendation of the house or try to get a table in the Gourmet 1895, the Kaiserhofs second restaurant with three Varta-Diamonds and a Michelin Star.

Grün&Form
Grün & Form is a shop which bears its concept in its name: here, you can find furniture, kitchen utensils and accessories mainly made of wood or near-natural materials. Trademarks are mostly the tables, benches, chairs and shelves made of timber, which are manufactured in Grün & Form's own workshop in Münster - also custom made and per order. In addition, there are selected brand products, from towels, woollen blankets and cotton rugs to crockery, ceramics and metal garden furniture. The design of the furniture is at the same time appealing and down-to-earth, the opposite of flashy plastic or overpriced furniture brand fetish - and almost everything handcrafted. Beautiful shop, beautiful stuff.
